Maltby announce new keeper and another committed player from Handsworth

Maltby Main have announced two signings, one in the form of goalkeeper James Pollard after Josh Lill left for Swallownest, then on Sunday Jonathan Hill joined from Handsworth Parramore.

“We are happy to announce we are to sign goalkeeper James Pollard after he agreed to come to us today.

This is another great coup for us and a fitting replacement to Lill who left to go to Swallownest yesterday.

He’s 19 and a highly rated goalkeeper who started on the SUFC futures course and progressed from this to make several appearances for SUFC under 18’s and under 23’s! While at Futures he played under our Assistant Manager Louis Axcell for Handsworth Reserves.

James started last season at Handsworth and ended up finishing the season with ironically Swallownest; where he impressed many admirers amongst ourselves.

For such a young age he has actually been offered a chance to go to a higher division club, but has agreed to come to us to play in the first team as our new number one.

We have tracked progress of James (and Will Eades who we signed yesterday) since last season and are now delighted to have both with us.

Another highly rated young player to add to the future of Maltby Main FC.

“We give another warm welcome to an addition to the squad at Maltby Main FC.

Welcome to Muglet Lane to Midfielder Jonathan Hill.

We are delighted to have spoken to Jonathan and that he has agreed to play for us next season.
