They have spent every season in the NCEL and now one of the leagues most prestigious clubs, Liversedge FC have just announced a new Chairman, along with several other important announcements.
“Liversedge FC are continuing on the path to strengthen the overall structure of the club and to this end are delighted to announce that Simon Turfrey has joined the club as Chairman.
Simon brings a wealth of experience to the role and he will co-ordinate the various footballing activities as the club strives to become an Evostik league club.
In his role, Simon will report to the main committee which itself is restructuring to further their ambition. To this end further announcements will made over the coming weeks.
An exciting development is the creation of two further teams – Under 19’s and Under 23’s- who, it is hoped, will form the backbone of the club in the coming years.
In this area Terry Bates and Dave Donald have also joined the coaching staff to create what is believed to be an extremely strong base to develop the youth development side as well as the senior players.
Ex-Ossett Albion manager Dave Haley will become first team coach with Dave Donald also working alongside manger Jonathan Rimmington and his assistant Simon Emery. Darren Attwood, last season’s first team coach, is now club secretary.
Simon said, “I am happy to be joining Liversedge FC and look forward to working with its committee, football people and volunteers whom have worked tirelessly to keep the club in the position it’s in”
Bryan Oakes said “I am delighted that after months of negotiations we welcome Simon on board as he has countless energy and his commitment to the game is there for all to see.”
The manager was also upbeat, “We have known of Simon’s interest for some time and when we all sat round the table it was obvious that we would all work tirelessly to make the club a success on and off the field, we for sometime have been looking for the right people to join our fantastic club and after the meeting I think we have.””
