Goole legend Derry Robson delighted to take up role as joint manager

Last night it was announced that Goole AFC legend Derry Robson and Steven Jeff had taken over the reigns at the NCEL Premier Division side.

We caught up with 24-year old Derry moments after the news had broke, “Very proud to take over as joint manager with Steven Jeff. It’s our local club and have both been at goole for long periods.

“A lot has changed over the last week or so with Sam Leigh and Karl Rose choosing to depart the club it left us with no Chairmen, management or playing squad with just over a week until pre-season was meant to start.

“Me and Steve offered our services and after a meeting with the new chairmen Alan Wilson we agreed to take on the role. It’s going to be a tough ask on and off the field to compete this year but we are aiming to finally have a bit of stability.

“It’s a fresh start for everyone at the club and with a local owner and management team we know the club, the volunteers and the supporters will get right behind us. UTV”
