Chris Millington, Dronfield Town manager has been at the helm for 18 months at the HE Barnes Stadium and guided them to their best ever points tally in his first full season at the club.
And Millington is pleased with his sides progress this pre-season, “It’s been a good pre-season in terms of recruitment and the effort that the players have put in has been excellent.
“Compared to this time last year we are in a much better position if we look at the ability and fitness of the squad so hopefully we can get off to a decent start as last year as we slow out of the blocks.
“We highlighted last year that we needed to add more experience to the squad over the summer and with the additions of Rich Mintoft, Tom Carnall, Connor Chappel, Robbie Cuppit and Josh Gibson I think we have done this.
“These players all have experience in the NCEL which will help our young squad. Jamie Damms is the only player that has moved on from last years squad which is another really big positive. I think like every manager pre season is great at first but when it gets to this point we all just want to season to start and we have a tough opener against Campion.”
