MILLINGTON: “Our start hurt us last season but we are in a better position this year”

A Bootiful Game welcome back to our good friend Chris Millington, who guided his Dronfield Town side to an impressive 14th place in Toolstation NCEL Division One last term. On Saturday, Town host Campion, ninth last season, and Chris is expecting a difficult examination at the weekend, writes Colin Muncie for the Bootiful Game.

Chris told us that he is anxious for a better August than last season. “We are really looking forward to Saturday’s opener against Campion and we know it will be a very good test” he admitted. “Our start hurt us last season but we are in a better position this year to get off to a better start. The lads have done all we have asked over pre season and the performances have gradually got better -which is really positive”.

Chris and his back-room staff are delighted to have more options going into a new campaign. “There’s competition for places this season” he told us “which as a management team gives me Nick (Siddons) and Ginner (Coach Chris Bullock) loads to think about.”

“We have some tough decisions to make before Saturday”.
