Pirie thanks tireless volunteers ahead of season opener

It’s a warm welcome back to the man nominated by Bootiful Game readers as their favourite Toolstation NCEL Premier League contributor , as Bottesford Town’s Head of Media Operations Howard Pirie anticipates the visit of newly-promoted Yorkshire Amateur to Birkdale Park on Saturday –and as the Poachers contemplate life after the loss of their 45-gaol striker to Alfreton Town in the close-season, Howard took time out to pay tribute to the fine band of volunteers at Ontario Road, writes Colin Muncie.

Howard admitted that the new season has come around pretty quickly. He told the Bootiful game “It didn’t really seem a long time off football with the World Cup and all. We go into Saturday’s game against Yorkshire Amateur with a familiar and settled squad with a couple of new additions. The loss of Dec Bacon to pastures new is obviously a blow but we have great character and hope once again to punch above our weight”.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in everything they’ve been doing post season-volunteers are the back bone of a club at this level.”
