It will certainly be a couple of new look sides this season for Maltby Main and Harrogate Railway as they have both made several changes from last season as they square off against each other in the opening round of NCEL Premier Division fixtures.
Maltby Main manager Scott Mason is looking forward to the season ahead, “Looking forward to getting on with the serious stuff tomorrow and when that whistle blows at 3 pm our lads will be all fired up and ready that’s a FACT.
“We as a management team want to build on last seasons campaign and push this club forward again on the pitch.
“We have a strong squad to go at tomorrow and naming a 16 will be hard . But that’s what we like . We have almost everyone available.
“The lads have worked hard in pre-season, but now it’s time for them to do what they do best – enjoy the football and prove to us why they should be starting every week.
“Our Chairman and Committee have worked hard again behind the scenes to put everything in place for a great season. We still have a few things going on to improve us as a club which shows we all want to move forward as a club. We thank them all for this hard work.
“We also as a club hope to get a few more through the gates this season after last year’s gates increased. So we will be pushing for football fans to come along and support non league when the local league sides are playing away.
“Come along with your tenner and watch footy, have a pie and a drink. You can’t do that at a league side!
“So from everyone at Maltby Main FC Good luck to everyone tomorrow and have a cracking season.”
Whilst Brian Davey from the opposite dugout commented, “I am looking forward to it. We have worked hard all summer and he squad is a young set of lads very fit, very keen and ready to go.
“Whether we will be good enough to play at this level with a very young set of lads time will tell. The club decided to go with local lads so we are totally starting from scratch.
We have signed Lewis Riley from Brighouse this week so he comes into squad.
