Last night we heard the very sad news that Lucille Rollinson has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer.
It has been a difficult year for her family and sons Connor and Calan who play for Glasshoughton Welfare and Worsbrough BA respectively.
In May, nearly 150 people turned out on an emotional night when Glasshoughton and Worsbrough played each other, and it was used as fundraiser and awareness day for acute myeloid leukaemia, the most severe form that Lucille had been fighting since October.
Around £1000 had been raised on the night, with funds being spread across three charities – Leukaemia UK, Bloodwise and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
We at The Bootiful Game send out deepest sympathies to Connor, Calan and the friends and family of the Rollinson’s.
The football family @WorsbroughBFC are saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Lucille Rollinson, the mother of Connor and Calan who both have close associations with our club.
