The other title contenders in Toolstation NCEL Division One can’t have helped but notice the result from Bradley Road last evening, as highly-rated Grimsby Borough made a huge statement of intent with a 10-0 win over plucky, new- look FC Bolsover-and after his side’s fine win, Joint Manager Nathan Collins asserted that it was a score line which has been coming, writes Colin Muncie.
The Wilderness Boys were three up at the break in front of a super crowd of 132, and added a further seven after the interval. Marc Copper bagged a hat trick, with Callum Lovitt, Josh Morrall, James Wroot, Danny Trott, Jack Debnam, Caine Winfarrah and Peter Win also opening their campaign accounts. Five of the goals came in the last ten minutes.
Nathan told the Bootiful Game “I’m obviously delighted with the result but we have been threatening to do that for quite a long time. Even more pleasing for me was the work rate and willingness to get the ball back -even in last 5 minutes of the game. We are not getting carried away and we still have a lot of improving to do, but some of our play tonight was a joy to watch”.
Nathan had words of consolation for the visitors “I have to give credit to Bolsover who kept going right to the end and actually have 4 or 5 very good players” he said “I’m sure their results will turn soon”.
