Davey looking forward to FA Cup game!

Harrogate Railway are preparing for an FA Cup game against Bridlington this weekend. The two sides had mixed fortunes in the league last week, with Harrogate losing to Maltby Main 2-0. Bridlington just squeezing past Garforth Town in the dying minutes 2-1, writes Mitchell Radford.

Last season both teams exited the FA Cup in the Preliminary round, Harrogate taking Kendal Town to a replay before losing out away 4-1. Not to take anything away from Harrogate as Kendal play a league higher so to be even took to a replay was a great achievement.

Bridlington Town suffered the same fate but losing out to Evo-Stik North winners South Shields, the game was actually streamed live on the BBC Sport website so maybe an incentive for Bridlington to potentially make that happen again. They unfortunately lost the game 3-1.

Harrogate manager Brian Davey is ‘looking forward’ to the game. “ The club is looking forward to it. It’s a cup I haven’t won before haha. A tough match away to Bridlington though, we have prepared as well as we can. Everybody is up for it and we will just do our best and see if we can spring a surprise.”

Good luck to both sides Saturday!
