Handsworth Parramore travelled to Maine Road in the FA Cup today and came away with a narrow 1-0 victory – with the only goal coming from Jed Phillips. Parramore will now face Congleton Town in the Preliminary round after they beat Eccleshill 1-0.
“Handsworth Parramore manager James Colliver said today’s victory was a ‘hard fought’ victory and shared his views on the game, “A hard fought victory over the Pennines today, it showed we have a lot of character and players who will dig deep for each other. They didn’t have a shot on target which is credit to our shape and work ethic to press and stop shots.
“In the first half we should’ve been further ahead but overall I’m delighted to be in the next round with a clean sheet.
“Thanks to the supporters who travelled to get behind the lads today it’s much appreciated along with supporting a local charity which was a fantastic gesture from our club. We will train twice next week before back to league action next Saturday, it’s important at these early stages we continue to build on our fitness.”
