In what could have been a tight game proved to be exactly that. Two unbeaten sides in Nostell Miners Welare and Worsbrough Bridge went up against each other, writes Mitchell Radford.
The game finished 2-3 to Worsbrough, and it was Nostell who took the lead in the 30th minute through Liam Owen. A minute later and Nostell doubled their lead in the 31st, the goal scored by Daniel Critchlow.
Six minutes later Worsbrough got their first goal of the game, in the 37th scored by Jack Mawson. A penalty was awarded to Worsbrough in the 41st minute, and it was converted by Keiran Hurst.
The comeback was competed late on in the 81st minute, Joe Dungsworth got what proved to be the winning goal.
Nostell manager Jason Dodsworth was furious following full-time, “It was a poor result, and from 2-0 up we should have never really lost the game. But what can only be described as one of many shocking decisions we let them back in the game.
“Then we have gave away a silly penalty and gone in at half time 2-2. Second half we never looked in danger of losing the game but got hit with a sucker punch and couldn’t get back into it.
“What is astounding is, how the officials just laugh about how bad they are! Acting like it’s all a joke. People put hard work in and volunteers have given their free time up for clowns to ruin games.”
