After last night’s late away win over Harrogate Railway Athletic, Hall Road Rangers Manager Bill Gill admitted that he was pleased to get a win under his belt in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division-and attributed the three points to his side’s industry during the ninety minutes, writes Colin Muncie.
Bill told the Bootiful Game” It was a relief last night securing our first points of the season. If you don’t get some on the board early it has a psychological effect on performances -and the oppositions’ approach- ahead of games. The injury to James Whittingham forced an early change which also affected our game plan and players due to feature off the bench; so naturally there was some disappointment from those not getting a run and those that I had to pull off. I don’t mind players feeling that way though- it shows they care”.
“ Our hard work was what stood out last night; we looked like we wanted to win the game and we got our rewards. It could have easily been 3 or 4-1 in the end. We just need to be more direct and ruthless in the final third.
We look forward to Goole now on Saturday at Howarth and hopefully welcome a few players back that we have placed with other teams for midweek game time.”
