Frustrated by that 64th minute floodlight failure at East Yorkshire Carnegie on Tuesday night, Hallam have just that thumping win at FC Bolsover on opening day to show from their season so far; and whilst they’ll be looking for redemption this Saturday, they’ll have to overcome Dronfield Town side in fine form themselves, after wins at home to Rossington and, impressively, at Worsborough Bridge Athletic in midweek -and the Hallam Management team have massive respect for Town Manager Chris Millington and his staff ahead of the local derby at the H E Barnes Stadium, writes Colin Muncie.
Here’s Hallam’s Joint Manager Scott Bates, who told the Bootiful Game “It’s another tough fixture, an absolute leveller with it being a local derby. We have to prepare right like every game; we can take nothing for granted at this level, and obviously we are familiar with their players, with all the lads being local.”
Assistant Manager Dean Bamforth agreed, but also offered a final view (maybe) on events at Dunswell Park “It’s a very tough game coming on Saturday but always great to see Milly and Sidds (Dronfield Assistant Manager Nick Siddons). We’re hoping to have -maybe -a couple of new additions as well. I’m not going to bark on about Tuesday night but I think everyone in the League -including Leon (Sewell, Carnegie Manager) and EY Carnegie are hoping the NCEL sees sense and a decision is made by someone actually at the game.”
“We can all move on then”.
Joint Manager Steven Whitehead and Town boss Chris Millington share a winning history in Division One. “As you know Chris and I won this League with Clipstone a few years back” he reminded us “so we know each other well. Dronfield are coming off the back of a great win in the week and Chris, Sidds and Ginner (Coach Chris Bullock) will have them bang at it. We will have to perform to the levels we have shown in our last two League games to come away with anything from Stonelow on Saturday”.
“It will make for a great game come 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon -and one that we are looking forward to.”
