Nostell Miners Welfare powered back to the top of the Toolstation NCEL Division One this afternoon after a 5-0 win at East Yorkshire Carnegie-so it must have been a fun journey west on the M62 after the game for Nostell Joint Manager Jason Dodsworth, who told us that his side could have enjoyed an even more emphatic win, writes Colin Muncie.
Watched by the 51 crowd at Dunswell Park, the visitors were 4-0 up at the interval thanks to a hat-trick from Danny Critchlow (19, 28 and 44 mins, taking the prolific striker to, errrm let’s see… eight for the season, with Brad Kilburn grabbing the third after 42 minutes. The returning Kai Hancock completed the scoring after 88 minutes.
Jason told the Bootiful game “We started like a house on fire; we were fantastic in the first half and deserved to be more than 4 up, in all honesty. In the second half we took the foot off the gas but still could have had another 4 or 5. We hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times and it could have been double figures but for their keeper, who had a great game. It was really pleasing to get Kai Hancock back on the pitch too, after his injury”.
“We now must be ready for the return fixture on Tuesday night”.
