Athersley Recreation manager has a messaged for his players and the fans, that their is no need to panic after Saturday saw their third straight league loss, which leaves them second-bottom of the NCEL Premier Division table.
An 85th minute Curtly Martin-Wyatt goal separated the sides at the weekend as Garforth took the late win. This followed on from an opening day defeat to Liversedge (3-1), then a 2-1 home defeat to Eccleshill United in midweek.
Rec manager Lee Potter remains positive though, “Two difficult defeats to take this week which when looking back on games a lack of concentration cost us after never really in danger both games and then lacking that clinical touch in the final third but can’t knock the lads effort.
“No need to panicking a season isn’t defined in three games. Feels like we are playing catch up after half our team left injured after one game but that’s Non-League and it’s gave our promising youngsters a chance, with two 16-year olds Alex Hutchinson and Spencer Sheppard been involved in each squad to date.
“And we move on to thackley to another different test.”
