With two wins from their two Toolstation NCEL Premier Division fixtures so far, Hemsworth Miners Welfare could hardly have made a better start to their season. It was a great result at Handsworth last weekend, but Wells Manager Wayne Benn knows that his side need to capitalise on that Sandy Lane victory with a solid outcome at Inkersall Road when they visit Staveley Miners Welfare tomorrow night-and Wayne is full of admiration for the way the Trojans operate on and off the field, writes Colin Muncie.
Wayne told the Bootiful Game “We travel across to Staveley on Wednesday and I expect another really tough game. They had a great win on Saturday and that certainly doesn’t make the job any easier. I’m sure they will take a lot of confidence from that result -and rightly so -but we also had a good win and if we can perform to the levels we did on Saturday then we are confident we can go there and get a positive result.
“I always enjoy our visits to Staveley” Wayne admitted. “ For me it’s up there as one of the best set ups in the League; the pitch is usually very good and their Chairman deserves great credit for putting money into constantly improving their facilities”.
“Too many clubs accept average facilities, but find money to chuck at the playing budget -and Staveley seem to have it the right way round”.
