NCEL Premier Division side Garforth Town made the short journey West to Eccleshill United last night in a decent 0-0 draw, watched by 111 spectators and manager Rob Hunter was pleased with the draw which saw them climb to 14th in the standings.
“Considering the huge injury list and 5 players making their debuts in the last 2 games, 4 points is really credible.
“We are hoping we can settle down and perform better as players start to recover from a tough start and eventually challenge the top half of the table. An incredibly tough FA Cup game at Bridlington on Saturday but I believe we will beat them if we reproduce our recent form, they’re a decent team but by no means better than us so it’s about what have you got on the day.
“We were better than them on the opening day of the season and deserved something from the encounter, so we go in to the match thinking we’ll win. I will be telling the lads to attack them and leave nothing behind, if we don’t win it won’t be because we haven’t thrown everything at them. As a club we’re still improving but nowhere near where we want to be so we keep doing our best and ensuring we learn from every game.”
