The league is Winterton’s priority as League Cup test bares ugly head!

Winterton Rangers

Five wins out of five and a one hundred per cent record in Toolstation NCEL Division One so far, so you’d have been forgiven for thinking that Winterton Rangers Manager Rob Watson might have preferred to maintain his side’s momentum in their title chase; but not so, as Rob looks forward to his side’s NCEL League Cup First Round tie at Harworth Colliery tomorrow-and he had time to share his memories with those NCEL sides competing in the Emirates FA Cup tie at the weekend, writes Colin Muncie.

Rob told the Bootiful Game “We’re looking forward to visiting Harworth. We want to make it 6 in 6, but I have said to the lads that the League is our priority this season. That takes nothing away from the League Cup as we want to win every game – the League remains our prime focus.

Winterton missed out on FA Cup qualification but if their form continues they will certainly be in it next season.

“The FA Cup is brilliant for Non-League teams” Rob reminded us.”With a good run of games you can make some good money which helps support the clubs. The FA Cup for me was all about the bus journey; I enjoyed travelling with the lads and spending quality time together before playing the game”.
