Knaresborough Town want to get back to winning ways, and quickly after their midweek 1-0 defeat to Bridlington Town – and what better way to do it than in the FA Cup Preliminary Round at home against Northern League side Blyth.
Assistant manager Gregg Anderson spoke to TBG this morning on his thoughts ahead of the tricky tie, “It’s a game where we can try get back to winning ways. Our last two results have been disappointing but under the circumstances I think we have found out a lot of our squad!
“The FA Cup is always a special cup! It’s a great chance to clubs to make a little bit of money and that always help with the running or any football club. Some say it’s a “free hit” and we probably go into the games as underdogs and it’s away from the league but I go into every game believing in my players and believing how ever we can we have to get a positive result.
“We know they are unbeaten and are a very well organised side but we are well up for the fight, we have such an honest, hard working set of lads who will be all hurting after recent results and I don’t have any doubt in my mind, win, lose or draw that all the players are going to give it there all, and as managers that’s pretty much all you can ask for first!”
