Hunter delight as last gasp Ibrahimi goal seals famous FA Cup win!

A last gasp Albert Ibrahimi finish saw Garforth Town beat fellow NCEL Premier Division side Bridlington in the FA Cup Preliminary Round at Queensgate.

Manager Rob Hunter was obviously delighted with the win, “It was a fantastic day for the club and I’m really pleased for the owners Craig and Brian. They put so much into making Garforth Town a great club to be at so it was nice to see the big smiles on their faces after the match.

“Albert Ibrahimi’s winning goal is typical of him, he has that ability to do something special on the occasions and he produced a special moment for us.

“In reality it wasn’t one of our best performances but every player put a shift in, defensively we were excellent and deserved the rewards at the end.

“Three players made their FA Cup debuts and I’m sure they’ll remember it: 17 year old Joe Colley came off the bench and produced a great assist for Alberts goal and as a sub all you can do is have an impact, I told him after the game how proud of him I was and he is gaining great experience at this level.

“A note for Bridlington Town because Curtis Woodhouse and Peter Smurthwaite were incredibly gracious after the game which showed real class.
MOM Chris Howard.”
