Young Foxy happy to have “Underdog” status in FA Cup draw!

The only certainty about today’s Emirates FA Cup First qualifying Round draw is that Parkgate will be playing at home on the afternoon of Saturday, September 8th. An FA Investigation into an ineligible player during Litherland Remyca’s 4-2 win over Charnock Richard in the First Extra preliminary Round means that Northern Premier League side Leek Town don’t yet know who they’ll face in their Second Preliminary Round which was scheduled for last Saturday. (Are you keeping up? I’m not-Ed)

Without the benefit of any clarity about his side’s next opponents, Parkgate’s Andrew Fox made the most of the home draw when he spoke to Bootiful Game Editor Craig Kendall.

Andrew told us “it’s nice that we don’t have to travel. I would have thought that whoever draws us would fancy their chances, given our current league position. But I would always prefer to play as underdogs to be honest. We showed what we are capable of on Saturday with our performance (a 2-0 win at Brighouse Town) -we just have to take that into the League also!”
