Stocks excited as Swallownest prepare for 1st ever Vase game

A great day lies ahead for everyone at Swallownest this Saturday, as the club takes its bow in the Buildbase FA Vase with a home tie against North West Counties League Premier Division side Abbey Hey at Rotherham Road-and for Swallownest Manager Jordan Stocks , the game can’t come quickly enough for everyone involved with the club, writes Colin Muncie.

Jordan told the Bootiful Game “This weekend is a fantastic occasion for our club and it is something that all the volunteers and clubmen should be proud of. It’s our first appearance in the FA Vase. We don’t know too much about our opponents so we won’t be taking them lightly. We are going to take the game to them -as the home team -and set our usual high tempo game from the off.”

Jordan expects to have all his playing resources at his disposal. “I and Joel Evans (Assistant Manager) finally have a full squad to pick from, with no suspensions and no real major injury concerns. The squad is good and competitive at the minute -which is exactly how it should be”.

“From our point of view bring on Saturday and hopefully the local community will get down to our first home game -and spur us on.”
