Barton send AFC Liverpool packing back to Merseyside out of the FA Vase!

Barton Town produced an impressive 3-1 win over North West Counties Premier Division side AFC Liverpool as their “March to the Arch” starts in the FA Vase.

Manager David Ricardo is determined that his Barton side produces the goods in the Vase this season after such disappointment in the FA Cup earlier this season, “Today went some way to repay the faithful from being knocked out of the FA Cup earlier in August.

“In the main we controlled the game although we thanked Tom Collins for making 3 fantastic saves at important times in the game. Having said that we missed a whole host of chances in the second half so we were good value for the winning margin.

“We can step up a couple of gears which I know we can do as we have the quality in the group to do so its just important that we ensure that we want to do well at all times.

“The next round we have a good home tie although we are missing a couple of key players but that will not stop us trying our best in progressing. Our efforts now turn to a difficult away game at Hemsowrth.”
