Yorkshire Amateur and Handsworth Parramore lock horns tonight in the NCEL League Cup Second Round with both sides hoping that a good Cup run will galvanise their seasons.
Ammas have started brightly this campaign, their first in the NCEL top flight, having collected 10 points form their opening 5 games, whilst Handsworth have had a difficult first month, but you can write the Ambers off!
Neil Sibson, joint-manager of The Ammas is expecting a tough night, “Tonight we welcome Handsworth Parramore up to Southerns Stadium in the league cup. We managed to come away with the points in a tough encounter down at there place so we know we will be in for another tough encounter.
“Both sides will be up to speed on how each other played out our last meeting so we will expect much of the same from them in terms of how they will play. We will be making a lot of changes to the side that we put out down at there’s but we trust in the lads that will take to the field.
“It’s a long season with lots of games to play so it gives us the opportunity to rotate our squad. There is healthy competition for places in our squad and the boys are aware of this. Which hopefully gets the best out of the lads on Tuesday.”
Whilst from the opposing dugout, Parra’s manager James Colliver echo’s Sibson’s thoughts on a difficult task ahead, “After a weekend off I’m looking forward to the game, we played them not long ago and I thought it was a good performance by both teams who went for it!
“We have been bright in training and had a good day on Saturday together, the lads seem upbeat and ready to turn our fortunes around.
“I’ve been in conversations with a player who I believe can improve us and hopefully we will have a new face in the squad tonight who will start if the registration goes through in time.”
