It should be a tremendous afternoon at the Bradley Football Development Centre this Saturday as Grimsby Borough, fifth in Toolstation NCEL Division One , welcome Stafford Rangers, eleventh in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division for their FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie – and Borough’s Joint Manager Daniel Barrett- understandably- is wearing his underdog badge with pride, writes Colin Muncie .
Daniel told the Bootiful Game “Saturday is a huge game for the club. In terms of the league differences we should not stand a chance really – but that’s what’s special about the FA Cup”.
Daniel has been delighted by the buzz around the club heading into the tie. “We will be going into the game after a good training session and lots of positive support from everyone at the club” he told us.
“Obviously it’s a huge game and hopefully one the lads can walk off at the end feeling proud of their performances”.
Whilst joint manager Nathan Collins added, “We have a few injuries and suspensions so it will give some of the other lads in the squad an opportunity.
“We know we are big underdogs against a team from three leagues above but we all looking forward to the game and I want our lads to enjoy it and play with no fear.
“We went to Warrington last season at the same stage of the competition and gave a really good account of ourselves and we are looking for that kind of performance again on Saturday.”
