If the International Break is likely to leave you without your mandatory footie fix this Saturday you could do way worse than head on down to the HE Barnes Stadium where Dronfield Town ,a healthy fourth in Toolstation NCEL Division One are offering free admission to their local match up with FC Bolsover, who continue to improve without yet gaining a point – and Bolsover Manager Matt Chatfield wants his players to take the game to the hosts , writes Colin Muncie.
Matt told the Bootiful Game ” After another disappointing result last Saturday against a well organised Winterton, we are looking for a positive reaction from the lads when we play Dronfield on Saturday. The problem with us at the minute is when we feel we have gone two steps forward ,we then go three steps back”.
“In order for us to start getting points on the table some players need to pull their socks up -and start taking responsibility on the pitch”.
It’s been a cracking start to the season from Dronfield, but Manager Chris Millington is hoping that a period of inactivity -brought about by a fixture schedule that he finds unusual- won’t dent his side’s fine early form.
Chris told the Bootiful Game ” We go in to Saturdays game on the back of a 16 day break which at this point of the season is as confusing as the fact that we play 5 teams back to back this year. Having played Bolsover in our last competitive game it will be interesting to see how both teams react and – as I said after the last game -Bolsover gave a it a real go in the second half so we need to make sure we work hard and are more clinical in front of goal. We’ve given the lads the last two Saturdays off but worked hard during the week- so hopefully we can put a level of performance in that is required to gain the three points”
Chris is hoping for a big crowd at the weekend “It is also our free entry day” he reminded us. “and with both Sheffield sides not playing it’s a great opportunity to get people down to the HE Barnes Stadium to see what we are about” .
