MASON: “The League is important and you want to be in the mix, so nights like tonight are games you have to be up for!”

After their fine televised performance in Saturday’s narrow FA Cup First Qualifying Round defeat at home to Frickley Athletic last Saturday , fourth placed Maltby Main resume their Toolstation NCEL Premier League campaign with a tough-looking away trip to Sheerien Park and Athersley Recreation, who sit fifteenth in the table but who had that excellent away victory at Bridlington Town at the weekend – and Miners Manager Scott Mason expects the Penguins to be a difficult proposition, writes Colin Muncie.

Scott told the Bootiful Game “It’s back to the bread and butter stuff it’s a away trip to Athersley. We’ve not played in the League for a few weeks now – but it’s been a great few weeks for us as a club.
Now we need to get focused again and bring our Cup form into the League . We all came away Saturday disappointed ;and looking back at the game we had reasons to be. On another day we get a deserved result. But it wasn’t to be – so we move on and there’s nothing better than a midweek game to get you going again”.

“The League is important and you want to be in the mix “, Scott admitted. “so nights like tonight are games you have to be up for.”

“Athersley got a great result away at Brid on Saturday- so we are in for another tough game “.
