Hallam eagerly anticipating the trip across the Pennines

Hallam head West on Saturday for a Buildbase FA Vase Second Qualifying Round tie at North West Counties Premier Division side Bootle – and Joint Manager Steven Whitehead is eagerly anticipating the trip across the Pennines , writes Colin Muncie.

Hallam accounted for the same opponents in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round at Sandygate last season, and Steven told the Bootiful game us “We’re looking forward to it. The coach there and back should be lively and will be all the better if we get something out of the game. It’s a little frustrating that we miss another League game but we look to carry on the winning ways”.

” We have a couple of key players missing -but also have a couple of lads back from injury and holiday. It should make for a good contest which we look forward to”.

Assistant Manager Dean Bamforth added, “I am looking forward as we do every game, real tough one as we seem to always get! They beat Congelton who beat Parras in FA Cup so complete different prospect to last years early game.

“We’ll go and try to be competitive and give value to the fans as always. We had a terrific result last week at one of the NCEL favourite and look at kicking on.”
