PIRIE pleased as Bottesford advance in Vase

Bottesford Town advanced to the First Round proper of the FA Vase with a convincing 3-0 replay win over Central Midland Football League South side Pinxton FC at Ontario Road on Wednesday night to earn an away tie at Saffron Dynamo from the Leicester Senior League-but Poachers Head of Media operations, Howard Pirie has his eyes on a difficult road trip to South Yorkshire this weekend, writes Colin Muncie.

Reflecting on last night’s Vase win, Howard told us “We rode our luck in the first 10 minutes as Pinxton came out punching. As the game settled down, we imposed ourselves more and started to create chances. In the second half we dominated and Pinxton resorted to some heavy challenges resulting in one of their players getting red carded for a late high challenge. Once again we made hard work of a tie we should have put to bed last weekend”.

“Another away trip to Leicestershire in the next round” Howard noted.”But we will think about that nearer the time. It’s back to the league for us now and a tough trip to Maltby Main”

“Always a well organised side -and a true test of our capabilities”.
