A 93rd minute winner from sub Alex Rippon won the Sandy Lane derby for Handsworth Parramore in an entertaining 3-2 victory over Worksop Town, writes Ian Robinson.
Parra’s Manager Jas Colliver shared his post match thoughts with The Bootiful Game, “It’s a huge three points away from home, and the lads deserve a lot of credit. We went one nil down against the run of play and everyone must’ve thought here we go again!
“Not today though, there was no way we were losing that game and fair play to the lads, they rolled their sleeves up and got all three points. We played some really good stuff in the first half, moved the ball quicker and had longer spells of possession. We played with no fear and a real togetherness to win in front of a healthy home crowd.
“I was delighted for Ollie Fearon to get his goal as he received some stick from the Worksop faithful, he took his goal well and was a handful for their back three all the game. Myself and Midi made positive changes throughout the game and it paid off late on, we said let’s be brave and go three at the back to match them up, Wraggy came on after training once in the last six months and got us the winner.
“Admittedly we got a bit of Lady Luck but I think we were due some. Against the odds , we had injuries and suspensions but with a siege mentality we got all three points and I think my lads enjoyed it! We will train twice next week and look forward to another home game next Saturday.”
