Nostell Miners Welfare kept up the pressure at the summit of the NCEL Division One table with a 3-0 win over Worsbrough BA.
Kai Hancock netted on 33 minutes before Jack Owen doubled their advantage just before the break. Joe Wood rounded off the scoring 13 minutes from time and joint manager Jason Dodsworth was pleased with the win, “Delighted with the three points and we really showed what we were about today with a dominant performance.
“Once again we totally dominated the first half and we’re a constant threat up front with Hancock, Owen and new signing Joe Wood causing the worsbrough back line all kinds of problems.
“Hancock opened the scoring with a great finish then set up Jack Owen for the second and we went in 2-nil up again.
“This time there were gunna be no mistakes and we were never in doubt of losing the game. Worsbrough had a decent spell for 20 minutes in the second half but without any real threat as I don’t think new signing Jordan Greaves had a save to make all game due to our back four being so dominant.
“Then new signing Joe Wood put the game to bed with a great run and composed finish for a young lad. All in all we were happy to gain revenge for the loss earlier in the season and now look to a massive game next Saturday.”
