On the eve of his home debut back at the club where -under his father’s Management – he enjoyed some of his most successful moments , Andrew Fox has been reflecting on his return to Inkersall Road in conversation with the Staveley Miners Welfare club website ahead of their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division clash with Liversedge – and Andrew is delighted to be back at a club for whom he has massive affection , writes Colin Muncie.
Andrew was leading scorer in his first full season at Green Lane and led the scoring charts again in another hapless season for the South Yorkshire club before jumping at the chance to get back to a higher level , and he told the Staveley website “I m really happy to have signed back at such a well established club. They have a young and very talented side there…..so I’m not sure where I fit in! in all seriousness I’m happy to be a part of it, the facilities are those of a team 2 or 3 leagues higher and it’s a fantastic place to play. Credit to the Chairman and all the volunteers for the work they have done to get it to the standard it is” .
“Manager Brett (Marshall ) knows the league well and has had great success too” the younger Fox added ” so I am looking forward to playing a part in this exciting team” .
