Bridlington Town quickly got over their midweek heavy defeat at Penistone Church with a fine 2-0 win over sixth-placed Handsworth Parramore at Sandy Lane this afternoon, and in doing so got themselves up to tenth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division –and Seasiders manager Brett Agnew felt that three points were no more than his side deserved, writes Colin Muncie.
After a goalless first half in front of the 101-strong crowd, Fraser Papprill gave the visitors the lead four minutes in to the second half, and Joe McFadyen clinched the win with just seven minutes left.
Brett was delighted. “We were deserved winners today” he told TBG.” I thought we bossed the game for eighty minutes and played football round a good Handsworth side. Our defence was solid and competed for everything to keep a clean sheet; I couldn’t be happier for the lads the way they’ve bounced back today”
Brett now turns his attention to next week’s FA Vase trip to Sunderland RCA.” It’s back to business on Tuesday, as we have two training sessions next week ahead of a tough Vase game”.
