Harrogate Railway Athletic welcome Yorkshire Amateur to Station Road for their West Riding County Cup First Round Tie tomorrow evening hoping to reverse the outcome of Saturday’s Toolstation NCEL Division One meeting between the two sides- and although Rail manager Craig Ogilvie wants to make headway in the competition, he admits that the tie offers him a timely opportunity to try different options, writes Colin Muncie.
Craig told the Bootiful Game that it had been a whirlwind start to life in charge at Harrogate “I’m looking forward to the game on Tuesday” he admitted.”It’s a perfect game at the right time for the squad. Due to the team playing so well recently -and the ultra tough run of games -it’s been tough to test new formations and see players in certain positions. Normally that’s a pre season thing -but coming into the hot seat during the season it’s really been tough to look at anything new and this is a perfect opportunity. We’ve got some players returning from injury who will be playing as well as having a look at our superb Under-23 players, giving them a chance to shine and stake a claim.
“I’m really hoping the lads who come in tomorrow night give me a headache for Saturday’s game” Craig added.” We might be trying a new formation, rotating players, but our preparation will be the same as any other game and I’m looking for the lads to try and win the game”.
“It’s not a friendly game- it’s a competitive County Cup game”.
