Bottesford Town squandered a 3-0 lead last night away at Hemsworth MW and Town assistant manager Leigh Herrick gave his reaction.
“On reflection a point was probably a fair result. When you go there missing Tommy Johnston, Jack Cross, Martin Pembleton, Craig Bridge and with Danny Boulton still some weeks away from fitness, that’s a lot of experience missing so the fact we bossed the first half against a very good and experienced side was pleasing.
“I hope any neutral that was there last night and has watched this level of football will see how well our young lads did, especially the first 45 and then last 20 when they had to dig in.
“Take away Lee Ridley and Wayne Graves, the average age is around 21 years old. So games like that last night will only help their development as footballers and help them mature into this standard of football.
“Credit to Wayne and Hemsworth, they were top draw second half but we’ve been to their patch enough times to know exactly what to expect and last night was no different. We’ve now got a few days to recover, do a head count for Saturday and we’ll go to Saffron Dynamo ready to go toe to toe and try put ourselves in the hat for the next round.”
