Dodsworth demands a big reaction from back-to-back defeats

On the wrong end of a surprise result in the Second Round of the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup last night, when they went down 4-3 after extra time to S and H County Senior League side Dodworth Miners Welfare in a tie switched to their own Welfare Ground, Nostell’s Joint Manager Jason Dodsworth underlined the importance of his side upping their game again -and fast- when thirteenth-placed Rossington Main visit New Crofton at the weekend, writes Colin Muncie.

After a flying start to the season,Nostell stay second in Toolstation NCEL Division One ahead of the clash, but Jason wasn’t mincing his words as he reflected on Wednesday night’s loss, and on the threat Rossington are likely to bring at the weekend. He told TBG “We need a big reaction from the players after two defeats on the spin. Wednesday night’s performance was totally unacceptable and we won’t accept performances like that. We were outworked against ten men for periods of the game and we probably could have scored 10 on another night- but once again it’s missed chances and conceding sloppy goals that’s cost us”

“Rossington are a team on the up under their new management” Jason warned “and it’s going to be another tough test.”

“The lads are going to need to react in a big way!”
