It was Winterton’s battling qualities which particularly pleased Rob Watson

Winterton Rangers extended their advantage in Toolstation NCEL Division One to four points last night-temporarily at least -when they drew 1-1 in their showcase clash with Hallam at West Street -and although both sides are noted for their footballing abilities, it was Winterton’s battling qualities which particularly pleased Manager Rob Watson, writes Colin Muncie.

Rob told TBG “I’m really pleased with the game tonight. Both teams were pushing for the win and I feel a draw was a fair result. We could have pinched it in the last twenty minutes mins but Hallam stood firm”.

“The game was a scrap from both teams- which we’d not had yet this season- so it was a good test for our lads; and a good point overall”.
