The Bootiful Game will be at Rotherham Road tomorrow afternoon to cover Swallownest’s FA Vase First Round tie at home to North West Counties League Division One North side Garstang – and we are delighted to gather the pre-match thoughts of Riverside Manager Lee Baker ahead of a landmark day for his club, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee admits that his side have lacked that bit of consistency so far this term, but he put his finger on the cause. He told TBG “We are really looking forward to the game. Its a little bit of history for our club and one that everyone has worked really hard towards. We started really well at the beginning of the season and have recently struggled with injuries and still do tomorrow. We just can’ t seem to get the continuity needed to be at our best this season.”
Despite the unwanted changes Lee is encouraged by his side’s recent form.”Taking all this into consideration though the lads have showed great maturity and togetherness to only lose one in our last six games- especially with some very tricky fixtures” he told us.
“Tomorrow -no matter the outcome- is one our team needs right now to bring us even closer together”, Lee added.
“I’m really looking forward to it and cant wait for the ball to be kicked off the spot at 3pm tomorrow.”
Look out for updates and reports from the Bootiful Game from 3pm tomorrow.
