They may still sit a deserved third in Toolstation NCEL Division One, but it’s now three straight losses in all competitions for Nostell Miners Welfare after this afternoon’s late defeat to thirteenth-placed Rossington main in New Crofton- but Nostell’s Joint Manager Jason Dodsworth felt that some inferior officiating contributed to his side’s downfall, writes Colin Muncie.
Behind at the break to Joe Wood’s 40th-minute opener front of a crowd of 85 at the Welfare Ground, Rossington hit back in the second half though Declan Howe (62minutes) and Lee Holmes (55), to leave Jason close to boiling point with the officials-and not for the first time.
“I’m sounding like a stuck record but once again we missed chance after chance and have been punished. However we’ve had two out of the three incompetent officials who spoilt the game with one of the worst decisions I’ve seen. A blatant handball from the Rossington forward has won them the game -and things like that really leave a bad taste. But nothing is ever done about shocking performances from those in the middle-and that goes for both teams, not just us”.
“We need to start from scratch -and get back to basics”.
