Needham was pleased to win but also to touch base with a number of familiar faces

Harworth Colliery were 2-1 winners in last night’s Sheffield and Hallamshire County Senior Cup Second Round tie at home to Swallownest at Scrooby Road. Former Swallownest Manager, Lee Needham, was pleased to win but also to touch base with a number of familiar faces, writes Colin Muncie.

Lee told TBG that he felt that his side just about deserved the win.” I thought we played well especially in the first half, creating plenty of chances to score. We conceded from a free kick, when a clear foul on our defender was missed in the build-up; so, to be going into half time 1-0 down, I felt was very harsh on us. We got back into the game after half time through a penalty and then the game seemed to open up and become end-to-end”.

“We managed to get the winner in the last ten minutes” Lee went on “which I felt rounded off a disciplined performance from the lads. It was nice to see some old faces and players that I have worked with in the past and I wish the management and the players well”.
