COLLINS: “The key for me is consistency and having the mental strength to do it week in and week out!”

Fourth-placed Grimsby Borough head to second-bottom Harworth Colliery in Toolstation NCEL Division One on Saturday – and their Joint Manager’s want to continue the squad’s recent fine form when they kick off at Scrooby Road, writes Colin Muncie.

Nathan Collins told TBG that his side’s will to win is the key to maintaining a sustained level of performance. “I’m sure Saturday will be another tough game,” he admitted, “but we need to carry on our recent good form and results. We have shown, against some good sides, that when we are at our best we are hard to contain, but the key for me is consistency and having the mental strength to do it week in and week out.”

“Ultimately that has to come from the players themselves.”

Colleague Daniel Barrett has been impressed by recent displays but doesn’t underestimate the task at the weekend. “Saturday will be a difficult game,” he warned, “As a lot of games will be, from now on. We need to be on our game and keep kicking on”.

“The lads’ performances have been better over the last two weeks – and they need to keep the standards at that level.”
