Watson feels that his players have a point to prove against the Robins

Winterton Rangers put their deserved three-point lead at the top of Toolstation NCEL Division One at stake this weekend when they make the trip to the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium and a meeting with ever-dangerous Selby Town, who lurk seventh in the standings – and Rangers Manager, Rob Watson, feels that his players have a point to prove against the Robins, writes Colin Muncie.

Selby took the honours in last season’s meetings, drawing 2-2 at home and winning 2-0 at Winterton at the end of November then took all three points when the sides met at West Street just three weeks ago.

“We are looking forward to the game. We’ve won two on the bounce and we want to make it three,” Rob told TBG. “Selby are a good side and we didn’t do ourselves any favours last time, with one striker suspended and the other getting sent off after ten minutes. This time I feel it will be a much closer game. We lost to a great goal last time out but for 89 minutes I felt we were the better team with ten men.”
