Pirie delighted to come home from Knaresborough with 1 point & name card prize

After investing seven pounds on admission to Mother Shipstone’s Cave (England’s Oldest Tourist attraction) Howard Pirie, Bottesford Town’s Head of Media operations, clasped the bottle of wishing well water he’d purchased from the cave shop as he headed to Manse Lane, where Bottesford Town tackled second-placed Knaresborough Town in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division yesterday afternoon; and our Howard came away delighted with a hard earned point after a goalless draw in front of the crowd of 149 in North Yorkshire, writes Colin Muncie.

“It was a great battling and disciplined performance against an in-form Knaresborough side,” Howard reported. “There won’t be many teams who go there and come away with points. We were a bit thin on the ground with players – but all credit to those who played. Jack Bowskin was Man of Match at centre back standing in for Tommy Johnston, Jake Rotherham impressed at left back and Macca (Stephen McCarron) controlled the centre of the park.”

Howard clearly enjoyed his trip north. “The BBA won the name card and we had a ‘cultural’ excursion into the town centre – so all in all a good away day.”

Safe trip home, Howard.
