Pirie just wants to forget yesterday…

More disappointment in West Yorkshire for Bottesford Town yesterday as they stay ninth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after a 4-0 away defeat to League Leaders Yorkshire Amateur; and Poachers Head of Media Operations, Howard Pirie, is looking forward to getting back to the home comforts of the Birkdale Stadium, writes Colin Muncie.

Ammers were three up at the break through Ash Flynn (20 minutes) Fernando Moke (28 minutes) and Callum Charlton (45 minutes); and the crowd of 44 saw Flynn apply an 89th minute punctuation mark to clinch the points.

A travel-weary Howard told TBG, “it was a thoroughly forgettable day in Leeds for the boys. Yorkshire Amateur are top because they take their chances. It was quite an even game on possession – but at the crucial moments our opponents showed their ruthless streak.”

“It’s getting a bit tiresome travelling to Yorkshire,” Howard admitted, “and next Saturday’s visit to Thackley will be our fourth on the trot. What goes around, comes around though, meaning we are going to have a few games at home – and can put all this behind us.”
