Another busy night of Cup action tomorrow evening for Dronfield Town who head to Christchurch Meadows and a Derbyshire Senior Cup Second Round tie with Northern Premier League Division One side Belper Town – and Town Manager, Chris Millington is expecting the hosts to be ready for action after their defeat at Brighouse at the weekend, writes Colin Muncie.
“We know that we are in for another tough cup game on Tuesday night,” Chris warned. “Belper lost at the weekend so I am sure they will be looking at putting that right. We go there with no pressure and the lads should again look forward to playing against a team higher in the Non-League pyramid for a third game in a row.”
His side may have exited the FA Vase at the weekend, but Chris saw plenty to encourage him at Walsall Wood. “We set a good standard on Saturday especially in the second half,” he told us, “and we will be looking for our lads to be brave in possession and work really hard when we don’t.”
Chris is racing against the clock to add to his options ahead of the tie. “We are hoping to have a new addition in tomorrow night’s squad,” he revealed, “but it will be tight as to whether we can register him in time.”
