Agnew not underestimating Cup opponents

Bridlington Town kick off their East Riding Senior Cup campaign on Saturday with a trip to Humber Premier League side Sculcoates Amateurs writes Ian Robinson.

Despite Brid riding high in the league at the moment, Manager Brett Agnew will not be underestimating the opposition but did tell us that he will be taking the opportunity to rotate his squad. “Sculcoates Amateurs will be right up for this game as expected from any underdog. I will be changing the squad a bit to give some lads game time and freshen some up, but that by no means is me taking this game lightly and being disrespectful, as I believe the lads that will be in the squad will have enough to get us into the next round.”

Referring to Tuesday night’s narrow defeat by Yorkshire Amateur, Brett told us “It’s good that we have a game coming round so quickly as it means we don’t have time to dwell on Tuesday night’s result. We have lots of positives to take from that game and, as always, things to work on which personally I thrive on, to coach the lads how to do it that bit better in the future.”
