The Swallownest Management team are chomping at the bit ahead of Saturday’s game against a revitalised Harworth Colliery, knowing that a win is vital to close the gap on the mid-table teams just above them, writes Ian Robinson.
First up was Manager Jordan Stocks who is looking forward to welcoming the ex Swall Management team of Lee Needham and Tom Hague, as he looks to avenge a Senior Cup defeat three weeks ago.
“We welcome Harworth, who have picked up four impressive points in their last two games. We obviously know all about Lee and Tom from their time here, so myself and Joel have an idea of what to expect as their game plan. First and foremost, we need to not get caught up in any of the things away from football, we need to concentrate on our game and us imposing ourselves as the dominant home team. We’ve had a good run of performances and results recently against some good opposition so we need to take the same mentality into this fixture to make sure we don’t slip up in any way.”
After struggling with squad injuries recently, there was some better news for Jordan this week. “We’ve a strong squad to select from but unfortunately still have a few missing with knocks and niggles, but from what I saw in training this week, the lads available look buzzing and ready.”
Meanwhile, Assistant Manager Joel Evans explained that consistency is the key now to help Swall climb the table. “This weekend’s game is massive to us as we want to carry on where we left off. Myself and Jordan want more consistency and we informed the lads last night of this at training. If we can do that, I’m sure we will be a match for any team in this league.”
Joel is also eager to catch up with Messers Needham and Hague, adding “It will be nice to have a drink with them after with the 3 points on the board and the conversation will be that little bit tastier.”
