Hallam management team looking for a reaction…

A League Cup Third Round win over Toolstation NCEL Premier Division front runners Knaresborough Town was followed last Saturday by that entertaining FA Vase Second Round defeat to Northern League Hebburn Town in a superb advertisement for the competition; but it’s back to NCEL Division One action for Hallam this weekend, as the eighth-placed Countrymen welcome tenth placed Armthorpe to Sandygate this Saturday.

Since taking four points from six from Dronfield Town in late October, Mike Carmody’s men have shipped sixteen goals in their last two games in League Cup and League; but still without the sun-kissed tourist, bronzed Adonis, Assistant Manager, Dean Bamforth the Hallam Joint Managers are only thinking about getting their players back to taking the three points, writes Colin Muncie.

Joint Manager Scott Bates told us, “after two games away from the League, we are back to it; we have a training session tonight (Thursday), and we are looking forward to Saturday’s game.”

“Nothing changes from our point of view; and hopefully we will have the usual good crowd behind us.”

Joint Manager, Stephen Whitehead is expecting his players to respond to that late Hebburn loss. “I will be looking for the lads to bounce back after last week’s defeat and get us back to winning ways,” he said. “Armthorpe will not be an easy way to do this, mind; so, we will have to play with the same tempo and attitude that we did when we embarked on that great run previous to the Vase defeat.”

“Having a week off and a good training session, I’m sure the lads will have the bit between their teeth.”

“Roll on Saturday!”
