Late, late Hirst goal gifts Worsbrough all 3 points

A 90th minute Kieran Hirst winner, gifted Worsbrough BA an important victory away at fellow NCEL Division One side Parkgate on Saturday.

Hirst slammed the ball home from close range against his former club as Lee Morris’ men make it three unbeaten in the league.

Morris first reflected on Parkgate’s recent revival, “I thought we came up against a very, very good Parkgate team. Daws and Lee should be very proud of what they have done in a short space of time.”

“But I honestly thought today we were outstanding, we limited them to set pieces and nothing else. We dominated in possession and showed why we are in the top 6.”

“We have now made it three league games undefeated and the lads deserve all the accolades. They get people forgetting this was a club that fought relegation for years and I’m super proud today for everyone associated with the club.”

“Also a massive thank you to Mark Arundel (Coach) and Joe Dungsworth for taking the team while I played. Two guys I trust massively and they were excellent on the side-lines today.”
